Meet the Zagreb Chess Pieces, often referred to as the Zagreb 1959 Series due to their association with the world championship tournament held in Croatia in 1959. This unique design of chess pieces stands out distinctively compared to other Staunton chess pieces. Notably, the upper part of the three main pieces—the king, queen, and bishop—features the opposing color. The knight is a centrepiece, meticulously carved with graceful strokes that traverse its vertebrae. These pieces are handcrafted by skilled artisans in Amritsar, India, with each piece carved from specified wood blocks.

Complete the ensemble with a veneered chess piece storage box made from walnut wood. This spacious box accommodates pieces ranging from 3 to 4 inches, lined with black velvet felt for protection. Staunton chess pieces are all manufactured by skilled craftsmen in Amritsar, India.

This is the official Chessgammon store, we are also present on eBay, Amazon and ETSY. However purchasing from the incorrect listing will mean you may be purchasing from a 3rd party dropshipper. This makes it incredibly difficult for you to arrange replacements/ complain about any potential damages.
