Introducing a wooden chess board with inlaid squares, featuring darker squares made from Macassar and lighter squares constructed from Maple. This high-quality board, made in Spain, promises years of use and provides the perfect backdrop for your chess pieces. Accompanying the board is a fantastic set of weighted Staunton chess pieces in the Zagreb design. Named after the 1959 world championship tournament held in Zagreb, Croatia, these pieces stand out with unique features such as the opposition-colored tops of the king, queen, and bishop, as well as intricately carved knights reminiscent of Russian chess piece designs. Handcrafted by skilled artisans in Amritsar, India, each piece is meticulously carved from specified wood blocks to capture the intricate details of the design. Additionally, the set includes a beautifully veneered walnut chess piece storage box, generously sized to accommodate pieces ranging from 3 inches to 4 inches. Padded and lined with black velvet felt, the storage box ensures the safety and protection of your cherished chess pieces.
